yean it's very risky especially if they abruptly stop and someone ends up coming out that would'nt be very good as that's just asking for mere trouble as I did that once in Las Vegas and that I almost got chased by someone as luckily I lost them in the process through the casino which I could of had ended up being arrested and thrown into Jail for the activities I do with a USB Recorder. so yes it's very risky and should be taken with caution

Well, it's white, so shouldn't be so hard to get a recorder which matches the colour. I'm more worried just of the shape of the recorder being recognizable against the door frame, even, if they have the same colour.

Most of the recorders that I have used are fairly sensitive, and pick up sound that can be heard in the room easily. When I have my recorder running in the house, there are times where I can hear my wife answer the phone 2 floors below. Also, let's not discount the fact that a woman vocalizing loudly during orgasm is at the DB level of yelling; these sounds pop out on recordings.

If you go with a long-term recording (some inexpensive recorders can record over 24 hours on a single chair) for times when you leave, hide your recorder under the couch or something. Below or behind a place they are unlikely to look, and point it towards the door. If you get poor results, try a few different placements. Being right by the door in person is playing with fire. A USB stick under the couch is easily explained away, even if found. "Oh, there that thing is! Those files I need are on that." Your dick in hand and phone out by the door to her room has no possible explanation.

Honestly, when it comes to roommates I find leaving a recorder riskier than standing in front of the door.
When someone comes out, you can always pretend you were just coming to knock to ask for something, or moving about the apartment etc. (depending on the layout.. think of a reason now, so you have an answer ready once you need it).

On the other hand, if she finds the recorder, it's game over, no way to explain it away. There was a thread about a guy getting a year in jail for leaving recorders to spy on their roommate. Even if it might be awkward, noone can arrest you for standing in the hallway with your phone.

Well, I've got some sad news for you: she actually decided to move out (no, she didn't find out about the recordings, we still are in good contact). But on the other hand, I've also got a new femal roommate who's bf is staying over quite frequently, so I'm trying to get something from them. Expect a new thread when this will happen .
