There seems to be a bit of controversy regarding clips in which the recorder can be heard pleasuring himself or herself while listening. Some enjoy these clips while others would really rather the recorder just … not. It seems to me the latter opinion is more widely and perhaps more strongly held.

I can see merit in both of these positions so thought there should be a thread just for sound clips where the guy or gal can be heard masturbating while he / she listens and records.

So, if you (like me) enjoy these kind of clips, you could post clips from the ‘net here. And if you don’t like them, well, maybe this could become the exclusive thread for these wanking clips which some feel are simply litterin’ the landscape. That way you wouldn’t be three or four minutes into a clip that’s getting real good only to realize the recorder has just unzipped and is also getting into it, and leaving you feeling like you’ve just stepped in dog poop.

So, I propose that if the recorder is wanking to the sounds he or she is recording, the clip should be posted here (if found on the ‘net) or linked by post here on the “Group W” Bench in the case of an original SSL Forum post. Perhaps original SSL clips could state in the description that the recorder is “joining in” if that activity is part of the action. It seems that sometimes this has been done, sometimes not.

On-topic clips that I think belong here:
-from motels, hotels B & Bs, etc., where the recorder masturbated to sounds of sex from the adjacent room

Spots58, I'm glad I'm not the only one! That's initially why i edit most of the clips i find and like. Being sensitive to sound has pros and cons.. Personally i only want to hear the action coming from the couple. Masturbating sounds don't bother me if that's part of what's happening in the act. It also doesn't bother me know someone else is doing that I just don't want to hear it. I could supply my own sounds if I did but i don't want to hear my own on a recording either. Silence in the studio is best . Also sounds of shuffling around, joints popping, mouth breathing, stomach noises, whispering, frequently scraping and sliding noises adjusting the recorder e.t.c... heard in many recordings. all make me cringe. It's similar to misophonia i suspect. I don't judge if someone else likes or doesn't mind all that though . I wonder if those same people also enjoy ASMR ? I can't stand that either. I kind of like editing soundfiles that aren't too infested with this, removing those elements and try to make it more realistic at the same time. I've shared a lot of those results.

One of the problems as you pointed out is just the random sounds of the recorder moving about whether he’s masturbating or not. Even if so quiet they wouldn’t disturb the couple on the other side of the shared wall, they’ll be distractingly loud on the recording.

And yeah, I don’t get ASMR, erotic or not, at all.

I also totally understand that while a recorder would masturbate while listening and taping, he might choose to edit out or reduce those sounds for the benefit of listeners or simply because he doesn’t want to put his own sounds out there. Or “hold out” as best he can and end the clip with the couple’s climaxes, before, perhaps somewhat frantically, pursuing his own.

While i enjoy hearing the recorder “joining in” it’s important to me that the predominant sounds in the recording are those of the couple arousing the recorder, and his / her masturbation should be “situationally appropriate”: it’s a different experience to enjoy yourself with a couple in the room above you or across the hallway in your apartment than the couple just the other side of a thin wall in a beach cottage where your beds are against the same wall. It’s also totally different with a couple that knows you may be “doing it” than with one where you must take your pleasure stealthily. So the masturbation. if there, must be a spontaneous, genuine part of the recorder’s experience.
